Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) recently met with city leaders from Whitney and officials from Hill County to discuss extensive upgrades to the city’s substation and related equipment — a major investment in the region’s energy infrastructure.

The open and collaborative discussions focused on how these improvements will strengthen grid reliability, boost energy resilience, and support the area’s growing residential and economic development.

“These upgrades are designed to ensure that as Whitney continues to grow, our infrastructure keeps pace,” said Clint Bryan, Central Texas Area Manager for TNMP. “We’re committed to providing safe, reliable power and these improvements are a vital part of that promise.”

The meetings are part of TNMP’s broader effort to engage local stakeholders, promote transparency, and work in partnership with the communities they serve.

“I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the representatives from Texas-New Mexico Power, Hill County Emergency Management, Hill County Sheriff Hunter Barnes, and County Judge Shane Brassell for attending a recent meeting to discuss the upgrades being made to the Whitney Electrical Substation. The information provided to us as city and county representatives was very informative. We, as the city, look forward to the more reliable power and capacity the upgrades to the substation will provide to our community. The City of Whitney remains committed to addressing concerns brought to us by our citizens, and working with those who attended this meeting will ensure that we maintain open communication lines to do just that,” said Billy Pribble, Operations Director, City of Whitney.

TNMP looks forward to continuing these discussions and sharing updates with the public as work progresses. These efforts reflect the company’s dedication to strengthening communities and delivering dependable energy to homes and businesses across the region.
