TNMP Honored for Energy Efficient Homes Program
Texas-New Mexico Power has been honored by ENERGY STAR for its efforts to increase adoption of energy-efficient home-building.
The Partner of the Year Energy Efficiency Program Delivery Award will be presented April 13 to recognize savings achieved by the High-Performance Homes Program that is part of TNMP's energy efficiency portfolio.
TNMP, which delivers electricity to 236,000 homes and businesses in areas throughout Texas, is one of 149 winners nationwide receiving partner of the year awards for 2015 performance in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency.
"We're very proud of the results of our energy efficiency programs, particularly the savings achieved by our High-Performance Homes program," said Stacy Whitehurst, vice president of regulatory affairs. "These results play an important role in helping customers in our service area to stretch their energy dollars."
TNMP’s High-Performance Homes Program promotes the construction and certification of new ENERGY STAR-certified homes. It provides financial incentives and other assistance to production and custom home-builders, which must commit to construct the qualifying homes within the TNMP service territory.
Other energy efficiency offers are available that can be used by home owners, business owners, governmental agencies and educational institutions.
