TNMP Honored Again for Energy Efficiency Program
Texas-New Mexico Power once again has been named a recipient of the Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award by the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR program.
TNMP now has been honored four consecutive years for the High-Performance Homes Program of its energy efficiency portfolio.
The second consecutive Sustained Excellence Award specifically recognizes TNMP's repeated success. EPA considers it the highest honor among ENERGY STAR awards. It's presented to partners that already received Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition.
The High-Performance Homes Program's successes in 2018 included:
- Participating home builders: 16
- Paid homes built in TNMP service area: 611
- Peak-demand savings credited to TNMP program: 666.91 kilowatts
- Consumption savings credited to TNMP program: 2.13 million kilowatt-hours
"I applaud the 2019 ENERGY STAR Award Winners," said EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Bill Wehrum. "Their innovation and leadership enhance America's economic competitiveness. Reducing costly energy waste improves air quality and public health while protecting the environment."
