TNMP Activates Emergency Operations Plan in Response to Potential Gulf Coast Tropical Cyclone

Gulf Coast, TX

Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) has been closely monitoring the potential impact of a tropical cyclone threatening the Gulf Coast service territory. In response, TNMP has activated its Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and entered "Enhanced Activation Mode" to ensure preparedness and swift action.

TNMP has thoroughly assessed its line crew and tree crew requirements. Internal teams from North and Central Texas are on standby, ready to be deployed as necessary. Additionally, external tree contractors are on standby to provide support if needed.

In collaboration with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), TNMP is actively participating in regular meetings and will adapt its response based on evolving conditions. Our primary commitment remains the safety and reliability of service for our customers during this critical time.

What Customers Can Do:

TNMP urges customers to recognize that a storm can cause significant damage and prolonged electricity outages. Conditions can change unexpectedly, sometimes worsening rapidly.

  • If you experience an outage, please report it using the Report Outage button on https://outagemap.tnmp.com. You can also report outages by calling 888-866-7456 and selecting Option 1.
  • Customers are encouraged to sign up for outage alerts by clicking "Sign Up for Outage Alerts" at Outage Notifications | TNMP.
  • Both resources are also located on the homepage TNMP | Home.

Customers with Critical Needs:

TNMP advises customers who rely on electricity for life-sustaining equipment to arrange for on-site backup capabilities or other alternatives, as we cannot guarantee an uninterrupted power supply.

During both pre-storm preparations and post-storm recovery efforts, TNMP urges all customers to stay informed about weather conditions and heed warnings or advisories from local authorities. Important updates will be provided by local news outlets regarding ongoing conditions and recovery efforts.
