EPA Honors TNMP Homes Program
A Texas-New Mexico Power energy efficiency program has been honored with an award by ENERGY STAR for the fifth consecutive year.
The High-Performance Homes Program, one of eight in TNMP's energy efficiency portfolio, also was awarded its third consecutive Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence award for 2019 performance. It also won Partner of the Year awards for 2015 and 2016.
The Sustained Excellence Award addition recognizes TNMP's repeated success and is considered by EPA to be among its highest honor among ENERGY STAR awards.
It is presented to partners that already received Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition.
The High-Performance Homes Program's successes in 2019 included:
- Participating home builders: 18
- Paid homes built in TNMP service area: 611
- Peak-demand savings credited to TNMP program: 434.12 kilowatts
- Consumption savings credited to TNMP program: 983,393 kilowatt-hours
“I salute the 2020 ENERGY STAR award winners,” said Anne Idsal, EPA principal deputy assistant administrator for air and radiation. “These leaders demonstrate how energy efficiency drives economic competitiveness in tandem with environmental protection.”
