TNMP Files Unopposed Settlement for System Resiliency Plan with the Public Utility Commission of Texas
Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) has filed an unopposed settlement in its application with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) for approval of a comprehensive System Resiliency Plan. This significant step underscores TNMP’s commitment to ensuring safe, reliable service for its customers through proactive and data-driven system improvements.
The System Resiliency Plan was developed using a detailed, data-driven approach to evaluate and address various risks that could impact TNMP’s distribution system. These include a range of potential resiliency events that could materially affect the safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
Key elements of the settlement include:
• $565.8 million in capital investments spanning 2025 to 2027, representing 94% of TNMP’s originally proposed plan.
• $128.2 million in program costs, with $107.0 million dedicated to critical areas such as vegetation management and wildfire mitigation. These program costs may be deferred to the balance sheet and included in future Distribution Cost Recovery Factor filings.
“The System Resiliency Plan reflects TNMP’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding our infrastructure and meeting the evolving needs of our customers,” said Neal Walker, President of TNMP. “We appreciate the collaboration with stakeholders in reaching this settlement and look forward to its approval by the PUCT.”
The settlement remains subject to final approval by the PUCT. The filed settlement and full application can be accessed at TNMP’s website: www.txnmenergy.com/investors/rates-and-filings/tnmp-puct-filings.aspx.
