TNMP Crews Ready to Safely Restore Power Amid Winter Weather
Texas New Mexico Power (TNMP) is closely monitoring the forecast for frigid temperatures and potential winter precipitation expected to impact Texas next week. While the severity and exact timing of the weather remain uncertain, TNMP crews are fully prepared to respond swiftly and safely to ensure reliable service for our customers.
TNMP has implemented a range of proactive measures to prepare for extreme weather conditions:
• Conducting thorough inspections of substations, transmission lines, and other essential components to ensure they can endure extreme cold,
• fueling vehicles,
• Evaluating staffing levels,
• Securing additional contractors and tree crews,
• Monitoring and participating in daily weather briefings,
• Testing equipment such as gas-filled circuit breakers that could be impacted by low temperatures.
“Our crews are equipped and ready to safely restore power as quickly as possible, no matter what challenges Mother Nature brings,” said Keith Nix, VP of Operations.
