TNMP is preparing for the possibility of widespread power outages affecting its Gulf Coast service territory due to Hurricane Laura.
Response plans are being executed, including relocating materials and people as needed.
Updates will be posted to this page if TNMP’s area is significantly affected.
Tips for customers
Detailed tips are available from our Tropical Storms & Hurricane page.
Tips include:
- Prepare for possibility you could be without power for days. (Let's hope not - but prepare anyway.)
- Users of powered medical equipment: confirm your backup plans now.
- Keep distance from our crews’ work sites – for Covid, but also for other dangers they know but you may not.
Press release
A press release was sent to news media around Galveston and Brazoria counties on Friday, Aug. 21. It originally was sent in anticipation of what became Marco, before it went another direction and Laura moved toward us.
The recommendations and preparations, however, are the same.
