Presented annually to EEI member companies, the award recognizes heroic recovery efforts by electric companies following service disruptions caused by extreme weather or other natural events.

Winners were selected by a panel of judges through a nomination process. The awards were presented during EEI’s Spring Board of Directors and Chief Executives Meeting.

“Keeping the lights on—and restoring power quickly after severe weather—requires extraordinary preparation and the dedication of highly skilled workforces,” said Drew Maloney, President and CEO of EEI. “EEI is proud to recognize TNMP for its exceptional response following the recent winter storm. The Recovery Award reflects the professionalism and hard work of TNMP’s storm recovery teams, who prepare year‑round to ensure they’re ready to face tough conditions to serve their customers and communities.”

TNMP’s Response to the Winter Storm

During the recent winter storm, TNMP demonstrated significant improvements in readiness, coordination, and system performance—driven by continued investments through its System Resiliency Plan.

Enhanced Resources and Faster Response

The storm required a larger and more proactive response than previous winter events. TNMP mobilized additional contract crews and expanded vegetation‑management teams both before and during the storm. These added resources enabled crews to respond quickly as conditions evolved.

  • The expanded vegetation support proved especially valuable, helping crews address tree‑related outages more efficiently and shorten restoration times across several regions.

Aerial Patrols Improve Damage Assessment

Following the storm, TNMP deployed a helicopter to patrol power lines. These aerial inspections allowed teams to identify damage in remote or difficult‑to‑access areas, prioritize repairs more effectively, and enhance both safety and restoration efficiency.

Continued Progress Through the System Resiliency Plan

TNMP’s performance during this storm reflects the ongoing progress of its System Resiliency Plan. The company remains committed to strengthening the electric system, improving coordination, and enhancing reliability during severe weather events.
